Courts will be labeled and laid out in an area of a lake pre-determined by local experts to offer the best possible chance at catching large numbers of fish. Then, organizers spend the 2 days before verifying the presence of target fish. Size is not critical, abundance is. Pan fish species are preferred but each lake may vary.
ALLOWED Equipment-
Each angler will be allowed to take onto the court (if they want):
Fish must be completely out of the hole to be counted. They must be legally hooked, according to any applicable laws.
Anglers may only have one line in the water at any time. No outside assistance of any kind during a match, except for a safety or life threatening situation. Anglers may not interfere with opponent in any way.
There will be a scorekeeper assigned to each court and a minimum of two roaming referees. A chief referee will have final say in any discrepancies. In the event of a discrepancy during a match the scorekeeper will summon a referee.
Anglers may sit, stand, kneel, squat or any combination, but they must keep their back to their opponent (weather permitting). They may not discuss the match with the scorekeeper or do anything to distract the scorekeeper.
Electronics/cameras will be allowed, keeping in mind this will be close quarters, shallow water fishing conditions.
Scoring will be on the basis of one point for each eligible species removed from the water. Scorekeepers will use an official tally sheet, and deliver the score sheet to the scoring table.
New brackets will be assigned and anglers will be responsible for checking their next round, and report to next court on time. If an angler is not present at next round before the 1 minute horn sounds, he/she will forfeit that round. Scorers will obtain their new scorecard and report to designated court.
